Capitol Reef Camp

Over Memorial Day weekend my family and I went to Capitol Reef to camp.
Griffin had to work... He can't get much time off!! Bummer!
So we headed out on Thursday May 31. When we got there we set up camp and met Lindsay and Zach down in Torrey for some dinner. We then went back up to camp and Linds and Zach set up their trailer.
We sat around the camp fire roasting marsh mellows and just hanging out. Then off to bed we went.
We woke up early in the morning to do some hikes. We did just a few little hikes in Capitol Reef. We saw Chimney Rock, Pioneer carvings, and much much more. We went back to camp for some lunch and to relax. It was windy so we were all burnt out from fighting the wind and hiking around. Once we woke up we went on a drive up the canyon from our camp to see some great over look outs. Next dinner time and nail painting. Then nighty night.
The next day we went to eat at Blondie's. It was about an hour and a half drive from camp. It was such a yummy lunch!! Afterwards we went and saw a couple things in the park. Then back to camp for the night!! This day seemed like a long day of driving around and just site seeing but it went by really quick.
On Sunday we woke up very early ate some breakfast and packed up our lunches, then hit the road. We were doing the drive behind Capitol Reef. It was about a 6 hour day of driving and seeing some of the most amazing red rocks!! We saw the Sun and Moon rock, a Crystal rock, A Sink Hole, and a few look outs. We drove up a mountain to eat some lunch and stretch our legs! We made a huge loop around the back of the park. On the back end to get back on the main road you have to drive through a river! It was really weird to drive through. Afterwards back at camp we decided to hike to a waterfall it was beautiful!! Then dinner time and card game time. We then all hit the pillow.
When we woke up in the morning we got all packed up and headed home!! It was such a fun weekend that went by way to fast.
